Newfield Receives Seeds of Stewardship award
We’re excited to share that our community was recognized last month at the Keep Martin Beautiful Awards with the Seeds of Stewardship Award for our experiential environmental education initiatives.
This award highlights those making a difference in Martin County through conservation, education, and restoration, which makes this recognition especially meaningful to us.
Through initiatives for residents and visitors at Newfield Farm and student experiences with Citrus Grove Elementary at KC Trails and the Kiplinger Conservancy, we’ve continued creating opportunities that connect the community with the environment through hands-on learning and exploration.
The Seeds of Stewardship Award also reflects our broader commitment to sustainability and conservation as a pillar of our community. Nearly 70% of Newfield is preserved as natural space for residents to enjoy, alongside green infrastructure, pedestrian-friendly design, our 170-acre community farm, and Martin County’s first gopher tortoise recipient site, created in partnership with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
We’re grateful to Keep Martin Beautiful for recognizing our commitment to conservation, sustainability, and environmental education within the community.
