Inaugural Trick-or-Trot 5K Marks Debut of KC Trails’ Southern Trailhead at Newfield

On Saturday, Oct. 25, we hosted our first-ever Trick-or-Trot 5K – a festive, family-friendly race to kick off Halloween weekend while raising funds for the Environmental Studies Council, supporting education and preservation efforts across the Treasure Coast. This was also the first event hosted at KC Trails’ newly opened southern trailhead, marking a major milestone as we continue to expand and activate our community’s trail system.

The fun, non-technical trail run took nearly 150 participants through wide, two-track dirt and grass roads, guiding runners and walkers through our vast network of trails. After the race, participants moved back to Newfield Farm for post-race celebrations.

The Trick-or-Trot 5K at KC Trails included numerous age-group awards and spooky prizes, race swag for all participants, and pre- and post-race hydration and treats. Even better, participants showed up in costumes, revealing their creativity and Halloween spirit.

We’re overjoyed with the turnout at our first-ever Trick-or-Trot 5K and thank each of you who supported our commitment to the environment and fostering community connections. Don’t forget to download our free community app to stay attuned to all our upcoming events.
