Newfield’s Farmyard Picnic & Croquet Classic Offers Fresh Air, Fresh Food and Family Fun
On Saturday, May 31, neighbors and guests gathered at Newfield Farm for the highly anticipated Farmyard Picnic & Croquet Classic, a midday event filled with fresh food, live music, lawn games and a lively croquet tournament. The event brought residents and visitors together to enjoy a relaxed afternoon under the sun, surrounded by the beauty of Newfield’s scenic landscape.
Picnic baskets were brimming with choices, thanks to Chef Danny Newman, who crafted a flavorful lineup of sandwiches and wraps, including ham and cheese, turkey and cheese, roasted veggie and chicken salad. Each meal came with sides such as pasta salad, chips, apples and cookies. Guests also enjoyed unlimited specialty beverages from Tap Ave Mobile Bar, featuring the Wicket Fizz, Country Cooler, Sweet Mallet and The Morning Match.
The highlight of the afternoon was the croquet tournament, where guests of all ages took to the field to compete in a spirited game that mixed fun with friendly rivalry. Players followed official rules, scoring through designated hoops in sequence and aiming for the final center peg to secure the win. Whether seasoned or first-time players, participants enjoyed a spirited and engaging competition.
Adding to the ambiance was a live performance by Lance Baitsholts, whose acoustic set created the perfect backdrop for the laid-back, family-friendly gathering.
The Farmyard Picnic & Croquet Classic was a celebration of community, good food and timeless outdoor fun, a perfect kickoff to the summer season.
