Our First Farm-to-Table Dinner Experience

Fresh flavors, good company, and a beautiful setting made for a memorable evening at our very first farm-to-table dinner!

Last week, guests gathered at The Barn for a night that celebrated the connection between food and the land it comes from. Before dinner, attendees explored the farm here at Newfield, learning more about the growing areas, our Showcase Farm Garden and The Harvest House while getting a closer look at what makes our agricultural program unique.

The evening’s rustic farm-inspired menu, curated by Chef Taylor Wilson, featured ingredients grown at Newfield Farm alongside products from local growers throughout the region. Guests enjoyed a farm tomato and charred pepper salad with arugula, smoked country ham, pickled onion, sourdough crumb and our green goddess dressing, followed by bourbon lacquered short rib served with braised collards, roasted root vegetable purée, farm herb chimichurri and southern-style cornbread. Dessert featured a honey infused buttermilk pie topped with farm berry coulis, cultured cream, candied pecan and honeycomb.

Guests also enjoyed live music and an interactive art experience from MartinArts, with a portion of the event proceeds benefiting the organization’s work throughout Martin County.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We loved sharing our farm, our food and a great evening with the community.

Our Farm-to-Table Dinner series is just getting started. Stay tuned for our next dinner!
